Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training doesn’t work. Numerous studies have shown that highlighting the differences in people can actually increase occurrences of biased behavior and that mandatory trainings can often spark a backlash. Additionally, information that isn’t reinforced is usually forgotten after 24 hours.
One of the reasons that DEI trainings fail is because they don’t inspire continual action. Instead, they are treated like a check-list item that can be ticked off and never dealt with again. That’s why we’re going beyond the standard, one-off DEI training and exploring what can be done every single day to create cultures of not just inclusion but BELONGING.
It’s not enough to bring diverse people to the table, those people need to feel like they can safely contribute and be heard. Join us for this important conversation where we’ll discuss what it means to have a healthy workplace culture and how you can create lasting change in your organization.
Beyond DEI will show you how to evaluate your company’s current practices through a detailed GAPS analysis and give you actionable steps to take long after the workshop has ended to continue this important work on a daily basis. We’ll also discuss upcoming legal changes and how to remain compliant with these new guidelines while treating your employees with respect and kindness.
