Our top keynotes
No organization is the exact same on Day One, Year Two, or Year Ten. So, how do you know when it’s time to level up? How can you prepare your business to be open to and ready for scaling? How can you reflect on where you have been to forecast where you are going? And what does leadership look like as your company grows?
CEO, Cindy Free, motivates owners and operators to reflect on their current phase of business to consider what’s possible, what’s next, and how they know when they have arrived.
- Learn the phases of a business life cycle
- Take inspiration from company success stories (and not-so-successful stories)
- Gain awareness of pitfalls to avoid as you consider or step towards scaling
- Reflect on what is needed in your role as your organization grows
Sometimes experts and leaders hog the microphone. We give instructions, answers, and quick responses. We are the fixers, planners, and integral members who make strategy a reality. But what if there is a transformative way to bring our employees and coworkers with us? What if we embrace curiosity? What if we aren’t the ones with the best ideas? How can actively listening be our new superpower?
Training & Development Consultant, Linda Addy, empowers leaders to ask the right questions to gain giant strides in company innovation, continuous improvement, and team trust.
- Understand foundations in communication in the workplace
- Learn impactful questions to ask that change everything about your company’s success
- Gain awareness of tripping hazards to avoid
- Discover how active listening builds connection and relationships
Perfectionism as a company norm just doesn’t work. While we may strive towards goals of productivity, high achievement, and meticulousness, humans sometimes stumble. When we fear mistakes, can’t be vulnerable, and value being right over learning…workplace culture suffers.
Training & Development Consultant, Linda Addy, reveals how company missteps can inform what success looks like and serve as an inspiration for new ideas and continuous improvement in your organization.
- Understand the cultural pressures of perfectionism
- Learn that teams that are afraid to fail may be afraid to succeed
- Take inspiration from how mistakes and failures have made companies, athletes, and innovators more successful
- Reflect on how mistakes are viewed in your organization

Moments That Shape Who We Are
HR Annie Annual Retreats
At HR Annie, we believe strong connection is the foundation of a thriving team. That’s why our annual retreat isn’t just a few days off—it’s a vital investment in our people. Each year, we carve out intentional time to rest, recoup, and reenergize so we can return refreshed and ready to serve our clients.
There’s always plenty of laughter and fun, but we also reflect on the past year, celebrate our growth, and align on the year ahead. Most importantly, we show up as our authentic selves. Prioritizing mental health and meaningful connection helps us continue doing the work we love: supporting yours.

To support a growing organization, Adventures in Spanish has attended our Manager Crash Course training and invested in developing their first full handbook. These resources are an important foundation for building a healthy culture and team! We love supporting their growth and development and are thrilled to be partnering with such a dynamic and fun organization.
HR Annie has supported the Corios team with their HR and recruitment needs for three years now. We have enjoyed partnering with the leadership team through the recruitment process as they continue to grow their business. Corios truly values their people, as we have seen through their thoughtful onboarding process, commitment to fostering a collaborative and solution-driven culture, and passion for cultivating career and professional development opportunities.
HR Annie has had the pleasure of working with Caffe Umbria in many capacities since 2017 to help them ensure their compliance, industry best practices, and culture are as quality as their delicious products. Hand in hand, we’ve guided Caffe Umbria through manager training and development, leadership team communications and dynamics, and recruitment support. In 2024, it was time to bring in an internal HR Manager to the company, and HR Annie had the pleasure of finding their perfect fit. Today, we still get to support the organization with escalated needs for HR support, but also as friends and colleagues.
HR Annie Training had the honor and privilege of working with Clackamas County to build their Respectful Workplace Anti-Harassment + Discrimination Supervisor Training. In reviewing and auditing their current tools/policies and meeting with their stakeholders, we were able to build a robust and approachable training that built confidence in their management team for how to value and support employees, remain aware of harassment law, and lean on internal commitments to keep the workplace culture healthy and inclusive.
CenterPlace Health offers caring, affordable healthcare for Sarasota County and envisions an engaged, healthy, prosperous community where healthcare enhances quality of life. CenterPlace Health was aware that their noble-hearted and dedicated management team would benefit from learning and development. With guidance from HR Annie Training, we built a Manager Training Series for 2024 and upskilled their leaders with communication training, performance management trainings, hiring trainings, and manager foundations training.
We've had the privilege of supporting Wallace in its mission to provide accessible healthcare to underserved communities. Our partnership has spanned multiple roles, from recruiting skilled Dental Assistants and Medical Assistants to finding the right fit for administrative positions. We’ve worked closely with Wallace to navigate the challenges of hiring in a competitive healthcare market, ensuring they attract candidates who align with their patient-centered values. Through our collaboration, we’ve helped them build a strong and dedicated team that continues to make a lasting impact on the Portland community.
Western Power Pool is a non-profit organization that facilitates coordination and resource sharing among utilities and other entities in the Western Interconnection. They came to us in April 2023 with a deck of 12+ hires, all slated for the following 12-18 months! We started by hiring their first-ever HR Manager, with whom we now partner closely on recruitment and hiring. Since then, we have filled a total of 13 key roles for them and are in the final stages of wrapping up one more. We partner with them from the very beginning, often participating in brainstorming sessions with the hiring managers, developing job descriptions, and taking it through the finish line.
Growing Gardens is a non-profit that uses the experience of growing food in schools, backyards, and correctional facilities to cultivate healthy and equitable communities. To ensure continued success, they partnered with HR Annie where, together, our focus centers on thoughtful and employee-centered HR infrastructure. HR Annie, in turn, has been able to support the Growing Garden’s organization by strengthening this infrastructure and bringing clarity and continued transparency throughout the organization. We feel so lucky to have the opportunity to support such an amazing organization so that they can continue doing great work in our communities.
How are we so lucky to have such a long-term client and trusted IT partner in return? Since 2016, HR Annie has teamed up to support DaVinci Digital with all aspects of HR support, from hiring some of their team members, working directly with the leadership team on strategic planning, and getting the opportunity to watch their strategic initiatives come to successful fruition. It’s been amazing to see their organization grow and prosper through owner succession planning, hybrid work environments, employee training and development—we’ll even see their newest manager at our Manager Crash Course this year.
Singapore Math has been a local organization for over 25 years, bringing the unique curriculum of the Singapore Math method to families and students nationwide. With HR Annie, Singapore Math has focused on developing manager skills and effective performance management, efficient and streamlined benefits management, and maximizing the benefits of their HRIS system. This has been a great opportunity for HR Annie to provide HR depth and experience and bring HR support to a new level to the team.
At Fire on the Mountain, a love for great food goes hand-in-hand with a commitment to their employees. For nearly two years, HR Annie has partnered closely with their internal HR Manager to provide expert guidance and support. Fire on the Mountain's dedication to a supportive and respectful workplace culture shines through in everything they do. By prioritizing employee well-being and development, they’ve created a strong, loyal team that feels valued and appreciated. This focus on care and connection has resulted in an impressive number of long-standing employees who not only contribute to the company’s success but also embody its values. Through our partnership, HR Annie has worked to ensure Fire on the Mountain has the tools, strategies, and resources needed to maintain their outstanding workplace culture.
Prior to our founder, Annie Reed, starting HR Annie Consulting, she worked with the Opportunity Foundation of Central Oregon as a trusted advisor and HR consultant out of Bend, Oregon. We are beyond grateful for the mutual loyalty that occurs between HR Annie and our clients like OFCO. This decades-long relationship has seen manager training and development, hiring, and providing annual Executive Director 360 Reviews administration and facilitation. We are additionally grateful for the important work this nonprofit does for the Central Oregon Community.
The Oregon Country Fair (OCF) hosts a vibrant three-day annual festival that celebrates living artfully and authentically, attracting around 45,000 attendees annually. Earlier this year, OCF enlisted HR Annie to conduct a comprehensive 360-review of their Executive Director.
HR Annie is proud to partner with organizations like OCF, which are dedicated to fostering employee growth, supporting their teams, and aligning these efforts with their overall mission and goals. HR Annie’s Executive Director review process is designed to provide a holistic perspective on how effectively an Executive Director is advancing the board’s strategies, mission, values, and goals, while also ensuring initiatives are cascaded down, with support, to all members of the organization, community partners, employees and other stakeholders.
